CELLISSIMO, established in 2015, is a unique Australian gut-strung Cello Duo: the outcome of years of enjoyable collaboration and exchange between Belinda & Tim, sharing their passion for 17th, - 19th century cello music. In September 2016, they performed their amazing debut Paris recital at L’Oratoire du Louvre. In April/May 2020, Cellissimo looks forward to its Irish debut, at the Galway International Cello Festival, and its London debut at the Handel & Hendrix House.


BELINDA MANWARING studied at the Sydney Conservatorium with distinguished cellist Lois Simpson. In 1982 she was awarded a Queen Elizabeth 11 Silver Jubilee Award to study with Radu Aldulescu and Pierre Fournier in Switzerland, at the International Menuhin Music Academy. 
She has performed with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the ACO, The Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, where she was lucky enough to be playing at the last public performance of Dame Joan Sutherland. In 1988 she toured the USA as a member of The Sydney Symphony Orchestra and between 1985-88 performed frequently at the Newcastle Conservatorium where she taught cello and chamber music. 
Later she studied baroque cello with Tim Blomfield and Danny Yeadon in Sydney and in 2008 attended the Early Music summer school in Vancouver with Jaap der Linden. 
Belinda has performed in numerous solo and duo recitals, on both baroque and modern cello. Her chamber music concerts in Nsw and Queensland frequently include performances at The Arts Centre Gold Coast, Toowoomba Festival of Flowers, 4 MBS FM Festival of Classics and The Robert Channon Winery concert series in Stanthorpe with The Arioso Chamber Ensemble, Cellissimo and various other colleagues. 
In August 2015 Belinda performed with the Sydney based ensemble, Salut! Baroque, at the instigation of Artistic Director and colleague Tim Blomfield, who, with Belinda performed a cello duet concert in Paris in September 2017. 
In 2016 Belinda participated in the weekend workshop with Masaaki Suzuki and Ensemble 415 in Nelson, NZ and this year has been involved with concerts with Queensland Baroque Orchestra. 


TIM BLOMFIELD is a leading Australian baroque cellist and is also Australia’s leading proponent of the bass violin (the precursor to the cello). As a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium, studying with Colleen McMeekin, and the Royal Conservatorium, The Hague - The Netherlands, studying with Jaap der Linden, he has enjoyed decades of historically-informed performing and teaching.

He is a founding Artistic Director of the 25 years old Salut! Baroque ensemble, which since 1995 has been giving annual subscription series concerts in Canberra and Sydney. Salut! Baroque has released 10 CDs for various labels including ABC Classic FM, ArtWorks, Walsingham Classics and its own label, Salut!

Two years ago, after a pause of 38 years, Tim recommenced formal pipe organ study with Ross Cobb at St Andrew’s Cathedral, Sydney where, recently, he was successful in his ABRSM examination. He also conducts a successful cello teaching studio in Birchgrove, Sydney.
