THE CLASSICAL MUSIC CLUB STUDENT GRANTS 2020
CRITERIA and GUIDELINES for tutors and parents/carers
We would like to encourage tutors to nominate any talented student who will be in years 7-12 next year (2020). This of course includes any student currently in grade 6. It also includes home schoolers.
Students who have already been nominated in a previous year are encouraged to re-apply.
This also applies to former Grant winners, but not in a successive year.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY
The student you are nominating for a grant:

Must be a resident of the Wingecarribee or Mulwaree Shires*

Will be in years 7-12 in 2020

Has been learning their chosen instrument** for about 5 years OR has reached 4th or 5th grade level (eg AMEB) or similar.

Has been taking exams in that instrument (preferable but not obligatory)

Is committed to Classical repertoire and technique

Shows promising musical and technical ability

Needs financial assistance with tuition

*this year we have extended our intake area to include the adjoining shire of Mulwaree (Goulburn etc)
**students are to apply on only one instrument ( ie their ‘best’ one)
HOW TO SUBMIT NOMINATIONS (deadline is 31st August 2019)
The student or his parent needs to apply through his tutor.
TUTORS: If the tutor decides to nominate a student then this can be done by emailing Yvonne D’Arcy directly at darcy.family@bigpond.com and requesting a teacher’s nomination form. Please title your email ‘student grant’.
PARENTS: when your child’s tutor has decided to nominate him/her, then you need to email Yvonne D’Arcy at darcy.family@bigpond.com and request a student form. Please title your email ‘student grant’.
Forms will be emailed to you or if you prefer snail mail, let Yvonne know.
