CRITERIA and GUIDELINES for tutors and parents/carers

We would like to encourage tutors to nominate any talented student who will be in years 7-12 next year (2020). This of course includes any student currently in grade 6.  It also includes home schoolers.

Students who have already been nominated in a previous year are encouraged to re-apply.

This also applies to former Grant winners, but not in a successive year.

The student you are nominating for a grant:

  • Must be a resident of the Wingecarribee or Mulwaree Shires*

  • Will be in years 7-12 in 2020

  • Has been learning their chosen instrument** for about 5 years OR has reached 4th or 5th grade level (eg AMEB) or similar.

  • Has been taking exams in that instrument (preferable but not obligatory)

  • Is committed to Classical repertoire and technique

  • Shows promising musical and technical ability

  • Needs financial assistance with tuition

  • *this year we have extended our intake area to include the adjoining shire of Mulwaree (Goulburn etc)

**students are to apply on only one instrument ( ie their ‘best’ one)
